First Presbyterian Church is a vibrant faith community that dates back to 1840. For over 175 years, our church has ministered to the needs of our members, the Iowa City community, and the world. It has been a voice of Reformed theology for eastern Iowa. While the location, facilities, and faces have changed over time, one thing remains constant: our commitment to serve Jesus Christ, one another, and our community.

Our church today is an active community of believers comprised of more than 300 households. Our members and guests continue to use our facilities extensively to worship, participate in Christian education, engage in social activities, and provide service ministries to the larger community.

We have a strong heritage of worship, music, mission and social justice.  However, there are important challenges we need to face to enable us to continue building God’s Future.
