Gift Options & Opportunities

Gift Options

All members are asked to consider gifts to Building God’s Future that are above and beyond what they give in their regular offerings and other contributions to First Presbyterian Church. There is a variety of ways that gifts can be made.

 •    Pledges, payable over three years, are easier for most donors and essential to meeting our goal. For most of us it would be impractical, if not impossible, to reach our objectives with one-time, out-of-pocket gifts.  Gifts may be made in monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual installments at the donor’s discretion.  A 10% initial investment toward your total pledge is encouraged.

•    Non-cash gifts are an additional or alternative way you can support our cause.  You may wish, for example, to consider gifts of securities (stocks and bonds).

•    Deferred gifts can also be offered to God. These are gifts that can be given or arranged for now, but will not be received until later. These gifts might include gifts through a person’s will by bequest, paid up gifts of life insurance policies or annuities, and trusts.

Gift Opportunities

All member gifts are critical to our success. There are also opportunities that invite donors to designate their gifts to a particular part or area of Building God’s Future in honor or memory of their loved ones. These designations may be permanent, or they may remain in place for a minimum of twenty-five (25) years, that is, once a donor’s payment for these areas or items is received in full. If a name change is made after 25 years, a plaque or nameplate recalling the original designation will still be displayed permanently.

If you are interested in donating a specific item, a member of our committee will be more than happy to discuss possible options with you.  Donors of specific items or areas will have their names, and/or the names of those they are honoring with their gifts, inscribed directly on the item given. Or the inscriptions will go on special plaques or nameplates that are placed on or near the item, where appropriate.  All donors, regardless of the size of their gift, will have their names listed in a special bulletin insert announcing campaign results as well as on a special “Donor Wall” or “Donor Book” that will be displayed in a prominent and visible place within our facilities. The Building God’s Future calls for all of our best and most faithful efforts.
