Your Gifts At Work

And even though debt reduction isn’t usually perceived as very exciting, look at the substantial savings that gifts of various sizes can help us realize over the life of our loan, and the things these savings can mean for our ministry.

•    A gift of $300,000, or $90,000 a year for the next 3 years (after an initial $30,000 investment), could save us approximately $415,000 over the life of our loan. That’s almost what we spend a year on lay elementary school staff’s salaries.

•    A gift of $250,000, or $75,000 a year for the next 3 years (after an initial $25,000 investment), could save us approximately $350,000 over the life of our loan. That’s three-and-a-half years’ worth of our lay employee health insurance.

•    A gift of $150,000, or $45,000 a year for the next 3 years (after an initial $15,000 investment), could save us about $215,000 over the remaining life of our loan. That’d be just about enough to cover eight years of religious education expenses.

•    A gift of $75,000, or $22,500 a year for the next 3 years (after an initial $7,500 investment), could give us a savings of almost $110,000 over the life of our loan. That’d pay for 10 years of altar and ministry supplies.

•    A gift of $50,000, or $15,000 a year for the next 3 years (after an initial $5,000 investment), could give us savings of at least $73,000 over the life of our loan. That’s what we pay annually for our lay parish staff salaries.

•    A gift of $25,000, or $7,500 a year for the next 3 years (after an initial $2,500 investment), could save us approximately $37,000 over the life of our loan. Such a gift would enable us to almost double our school marketing efforts over the next 10 years.

•    A gift of $10,000, or $3,000 a year for the next 3 years (after an initial $1,000 investment), could free up around $15,000 over the next 10 years, and would cover half the cost of Extended Care classroom supplies during that timeframe.

•    And a gift of $7,500, or $2,250 a year for the next 3 years (after an initial $750 investment), could save us approximately $11,200 in principal and interest. That’s equal to what we spend a year on classroom supplies for the school and preschool.

•    And a gift of $5,000, or $1,500 a year for the next 3 years (after an initial $500 investment), could save us approximately $7,400 in principal and interest payments. We could double our current budget for speakers, retreats and workshops with a gift like that.

In short, your most generous gift and all gifts is the key!
